Artist International Gallery

These Art Workshops provide artists the opportunity to develop their skills while getting to know about color and composition. Artists may work in representational, abstract, or styles of their own choosing with helpful critiques from the instructor.

These classes introduce you to the basics of opaque watercolor (aka gouache) with an emphasis on developing one’s own style. There will be demonstrations and discussions on color and design. You can paint from still life set-ups, photos, or your own subject. The instructor's commitment to your personal, artistic growth and successful studio experience is supported with individual attention, critiques, and demonstrations.

The Art Gallery offers workshops limited to 7 students in order to provide individual time with the instructor. Each class begins with a demonstration. Artists will proceed with their own work guided by Mirja Clement. At the end of each class, the paintings will receive a critique.

Artists can explore the nature of personal expression in both representational and abstract work. Emphasis will be on the unique gift each artist has to offer through the use of emotion, experience, intellect, and imagination. Mirja will provide individual attention helping and challenging you to verbalize your creative goals, visualize your designs, and resolve design problems; thus, aiding you to grow toward more independent and personalized expression in your work.

Mirja’s class will explore fundamental painting techniques and discover how to design strong compositions and mix clean colors.
